Time: Summer midday for swimming at Torpy Park Beach. · Early morning for glassier water, paddling, wildlife and easier ramp parking. · Late afternoon into sunset for lake views and cooler summer air.
Avoid: Avoid thunderstorms, unsafe or unverified ice, cold-water periods, problematic algae/weed bays, and Town-ramp trips after docks may be removed in October.

Closures: Town ramp docks may be removed at any time beginning October 1. Paid Town ramp-permit enforcement continues through November 30. Winter ice is not certified lake-wide; verify local ice conditions in the same week before ice fishing or snowmobile travel. Avoid boating during thunderstorms and use caution in spring/fall cold-water conditions.
